end of a season

Even though the winter season is still holding on strong (cold temps with storms a brewin'), this weekend marked the end of our basketball season. Jocie and the rest of the team played their hearts out in Champlin, MN at the 2011 MYAS State Basketball Tournament.

My mom (AKA Nanny) and Dennis traveled down to witness the excitement (and to help me with Claire at the games). We started out strong when we beat Woodbury 30-15. We struggled a little in the second game, and ended up losing to Wayzata 40-30. Then we rallied back and and beat Stillwater in the last game of the day ( . . . can't remember the score . . . it had been a long day). We were back at the gym early this morning to play Coon Rapids. The girls played hard, but we just couldn't stop them. We ended our last game of the season with a 18-30 loss (not fun to end a season with a loss, but unfortunately, most seasons ends in defeat).

It was so fun to watch Jocie play a game she loves. She played hard at all times - whether she was hustling to re-claim a loose ball, boxing out for a rebound, fighting for a jump-ball, shooting jumpers (she made two 3-pointers!) or draining free throws, she never lost her high level of intensity. We were very proud of her!

We had a great year of Basketball and look forward to Summer Camps which will come sooner than we think!

LOVE the final team shot- good job posing them! It looks great!...also, I love Ella's "game face" on the bench. Jocie looks like such the athlete- can we come to one of her games next year?!...also, Claire is too damn cute for words.
